Description

A six sided lantern in clear glass carried on a brass arm that stands well off the wall. Because the glass is clear you see the lamp, so fit a decorative filament LED and let it be the ornament.

Blown by mouth on the Venetian lagoon by a workshop we have bought from for years. Nothing is pressed and nothing is moulded except where the pattern needs a mould, so no two pieces are identical in wall thickness or in the exact set of the shoulder. Brass parts are made in England and the two are married here. Sold as a pair, blown in the same session by the same maker.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. It is a heavy fitting at roughly 12.2 kilograms, so fix into masonry or into a timber noggin behind plasterboard rather than into the board alone.
