1. What this covers
What we collect when you visit thesconcehouse.com, order, contact us or subscribe; how we use it; who we share it with; and your rights. We handle data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. What we collect
- Order and account data — name, billing and delivery address, email, telephone, order history.
- Payment data — processed by Shopify Payments, PayPal and similar. We receive the last four digits, the card type and the authorisation result only. We never see or store your full card number.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device, referring pages and pages viewed, via cookies.
- Marketing data — your email and preferences if you subscribe, and whether you open or click.
- Correspondence — messages about products, commissions, deliveries or returns.
3. Why, and our lawful basis
- To fulfil your order, including payment, delivery and returns. Basis: performance of a contract.
- Customer service, including faults, repairs and bespoke work. Basis: contract and legitimate interests.
- Fraud prevention and site security. Basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- Accounting and tax records. Basis: legal obligation.
- Marketing emails where you have consented, or as an existing customer under the soft opt-in. You can unsubscribe from any email in one click.
- Analytics. Basis: consent.
4. Cookies
Essential cookies run the basket and checkout and cannot be switched off. Analytics and marketing cookies are set only with your agreement through the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie preferences link in the footer.
5. Who we share with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers who help us run the shop, each under contract: Shopify Inc. (platform and hosting); payment providers; carriers (Royal Mail, DPD, DHL, Parcelforce and two person delivery firms); our makers and workshops where a piece ships directly; email and analytics providers where you have consented; and professional advisers, HMRC or law enforcement where legally required.
6. International transfers
Some providers are outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, with additional safeguards where needed.
7. How long we keep it
Order and transaction records: seven years (HMRC and Companies Act). Marketing data: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honour the opt-out. Customer service correspondence: up to three years. Analytics: up to 26 months.
8. Your rights
You may ask what we hold and receive a copy, have inaccurate data corrected, ask us to erase data, restrict or object to processing, receive your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Email us and we will respond within one month.

10. Children
Our shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
