Finish
Description

A cylinder blown into a rigadin mould, which puts a fine vertical rib the whole way round. The ribs break the light into narrow lines, so the fitting reads as a soft sparkle rather than a single bright shape.

Blown by mouth on the Venetian lagoon by a workshop we have bought from for years. Nothing is pressed and nothing is moulded except where the pattern needs a mould, so no two pieces are identical in wall thickness or in the exact set of the shoulder. Brass parts are made in England and the two are married here. Sold as a pair, blown in the same session by the same maker.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. At roughly 6.0 kilograms it needs a proper fixing. Use the supplied screws into masonry, or a heavy duty plasterboard anchor rated well above the weight of the light.
