Description

Brass and clear glass out of Milan, from the years when Italian lighting was the best in Europe and knew it. Light in the hand and much better made than it looks.

Everything we sell has been through the same process. Stripped to components, cleaned by hand rather than blasted, rewired end to end with silicone insulated cable, fitted with new lampholders and a proper earth, then PAT tested and certificated. We do not re-plate or re-lacquer unless the original finish has failed, because a hundred years of patina is the reason to buy an antique in the first place. One fitting only. When it is gone it is gone.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. At roughly 2.9 kilograms it is light enough for a good quality plasterboard anchor if there is no timber behind. Original backplates are often smaller than a modern pattress, so check what is behind your existing fitting before you take it off the wall.
