Marlow and Reade Turnham Traditional Brass Picture Light 600mm Pair
Description
The traditional half round hood on a swan neck, the fitting a gallery would have used before anyone thought of putting LEDs in a strip. The hood tilts through forty degrees so you can take the reflection off glazed work. Sold as a pair from the same LED bin, so two pictures hung side by side are lit at the same colour temperature.
Made from solid brass in Birmingham with the LED board and driver built in, so there is no transformer to hide in the ceiling void. The board is specified at CRI 95 or better, which matters more on a painting than brightness does: a low CRI source flattens reds and greys and makes an oil look muddy. Every length is on the same 2700K bin so a wall of them matches.

Fitting
This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. At roughly 5.6 kilograms it needs a proper fixing. Use the supplied screws into masonry, or a heavy duty plasterboard anchor rated well above the weight of the light. It can be fixed to the wall above the picture or screwed to the top rail of the frame itself, and both sets of fixings are in the box.
