Marlow and Reade Ashby Compact Picture Light 150mm

A small brass hood on a fixed swan neck. The compact version of the Turnham, made for a print or a watercolour rather than a canvas.

Small pictures are lit badly more often than large ones, usually by something far too bright hung far too high. A compact picture light sits close to the frame and throws a short, even wash down the face of the work. The board is CRI 90 or better because colour matters more than brightness on anything painted, and the whole run is on one 2700K bin so a group of them matches.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. At roughly 0.7 kilograms it is light enough for a good quality plasterboard anchor if there is no timber behind.
