Foundry Nine Ombersley Cast Bronze Double Candle Bracket Wall Light Pair

Two candle arms on one cast backplate, the arms swept up so the flames sit level with each other. A heavy piece with a lot of metal in it, meant for a hall or a dining room where the fitting is part of the architecture.

Cast by the lost wax method in a Somerset foundry. A wax original is invested in a ceramic shell, the wax is burned out and the bronze is poured into the void that is left, which is why the surface holds so much detail. Every casting is then chased, patinated and waxed by hand. Sold as a pair, poured from the same mould in the same session so the patina matches.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. It is a heavy fitting at roughly 14.8 kilograms, so fix into masonry or into a timber noggin behind plasterboard rather than into the board alone.
