Chalkhill Studio Rushmore Sculptural Plaster Wave Wall Light Pair

A wave form modelled by hand in the studio rather than drawn on a screen, so the curve changes section as it rises. Reads as a piece of sculpture in daylight and as a soft glow at night.

Cast in fine casting plaster reinforced with jute scrim, then rubbed back by hand. It arrives raw and slightly chalky. Most people paint it the colour of the wall so the fitting reads as part of the plasterwork, and it takes emulsion, chalk paint or limewash without a primer. Sold as a pair, cast in the same batch.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. It is a heavy fitting at roughly 14.2 kilograms, so fix into masonry or into a timber noggin behind plasterboard rather than into the board alone.
