Chalkhill Studio Quenby Plaster Column with a Flared Top Wall Light Large

A tall plaster column that flares at the head, throwing most of its light at the ceiling and a thin wash down the wall. Good in a stairwell where the ceiling is the surface worth lighting.

Cast in fine casting plaster reinforced with jute scrim, then rubbed back by hand. It arrives raw and slightly chalky. Most people paint it the colour of the wall so the fitting reads as part of the plasterwork, and it takes emulsion, chalk paint or limewash without a primer. Sold singly in the larger size, half as big again.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. It is a heavy fitting at roughly 9.9 kilograms, so fix into masonry or into a timber noggin behind plasterboard rather than into the board alone.
