Marlow and Reade Lambourne Solid Brass Gooseneck with Milk Glass Wall Light

A heavy gooseneck in solid brass with a milk glass shade screwed into a brass gallery. The gooseneck holds any position you bend it into and will keep doing so for decades because the tube is thick walled.

Turned and machined from solid brass bar in Birmingham, not spun from sheet and not plated steel. The arms run on machined brass knuckles with PTFE washers, so the movement is smooth from the first day and stays that way. Finishes are applied to the metal itself, so a scratch shows brass underneath rather than a different colour. Sold singly.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. At roughly 4.2 kilograms it needs a proper fixing. Use the supplied screws into masonry, or a heavy duty plasterboard anchor rated well above the weight of the light.
