Marlow and Reade Dinton Twin Bedside Reading Light

Two independently switched heads on one backplate, so one of you can read and the other cannot see it. Fitted above the middle of a headboard.

Reading in bed is the one job a wall light does that a ceiling light cannot do at all, and most wall lights are not very good at it either. The rule we work to is that the light reaches the page and stops. That means a deep shade or a proper optic, a warm colour temperature, and a switch you can find without opening your eyes. Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. At roughly 2.6 kilograms it is light enough for a good quality plasterboard anchor if there is no timber behind. Fit it at about 1200mm off the floor, or 150mm above the top of the headboard, whichever is higher.
