Shell uplighters cast in one batch, for a stairwell or a long gallery wall where you want the wash to be even.

Buying a run as a set is cheaper per fitting and, more importantly, gets you fittings that actually match. Finishes drift between production runs, glass drifts between blowing sessions and LED boards drift between bins. A set is made, finished and packed together, then checked side by side on a bench before it is boxed.

Fitting

This is a hardwired fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working to BS 7671. It arrives with a standard round backplate and fixing screws. Wall plugs are not supplied because the right fixing depends on whether you are going into brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster. At roughly 4.8 kilograms it needs a proper fixing. Use the supplied screws into masonry, or a heavy duty plasterboard anchor rated well above the weight of the light. Each fitting is boxed separately inside the outer carton so your electrician can take them one at a time.
